FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
August 4, 2017

Brewers and distillers from across Alaska are returning to Anchorage for the second annual Alaska Crafted festival. This premier outdoor beer and distillery tasting event will take place in downtown Anchorage on Saturday, Sept. 9, from 5-9 p.m., and will specifically feature craft brews and distilled spirits made in the Last Frontier.

The festival will celebrate Alaska brands, with live music, educational seminars and product demonstrations highlighting the emerging, and established, craft beer and distilled spirits industry in the state. More than 24 brewers and distillers will showcase as many as 40 Alaska varieties, hailing from Kodiak Island in the Kodiak Archipelago, to Gakona in the east, Sitka in Southeast, to Fox in Alaska’s Interior. In addition to interacting with the people behind these Alaska-made beverages, festivalgoers can expect a variety of food trucks and entertainment. This year, festival admission extends to the Delmag show at Williwaw immediately following the event.

“This is the only event each year that you’ll find all of Alaska’s distillers in one place so it’s a great opportunity to get to know the spirits made in different regions of the state,” said Heather Shade, executive director of the Distillers Guild of Alaska. “Alaska has such a wealth of craft beverages and this is a celebration of them all.”

“Everyone has been asking if we are doing Alaska Crafted again. The answer? Yes,” says Ryan Makinster, executive director of the Brewers Guild of Alaska. “We couldn’t offer this showcase without the hard work, love and commitment of our members. Alaskans can thank them for this awesome end-of-summer event.”

This outdoor special event is for ages 21 and up and will be held in downtown Anchorage on F St. between Sixth and Seventh Avenues. Tickets are $45 each and can be purchased at www.alaskacrafted.com
